Uganda’s population growth second highest in the world.

The 2007/2008 state of Uganda’s population report indicates that Uganda’s population growth rate of 3.6% is the second highest in the world after Liberia with 4.8%.

Uganda’s current population is estimated at 28.3 million, from 24.2 million in 2002, which is an average annual rate of 3.2 percent.

Today Ugandans live on average three years longer than it was three years.
Life expectancy has increased from 48.4 in 2004 to 51.5 in 2007 .The report also shows that women live longer than men. Life expectancy for women has risen to 52.3 years, while men have an average lifespan of 50.7 years.
